As a responsible corporate citizen, SEAOIL is an advocate of the following causes:
Free Competition
Like other independent oil companies, SEAOIL contributes to the nation’s progress and development by promoting free competition amongst the nation’s petroleum providers. From its incorporation in 1978, SEAOIL has taken a fair yet aggressive stance towards providing Filipino industries and consumers with affordable petroleum products that meet, if not exceed, international standards. It has worked very closely with the Department of Energy to ensure that Filipinos benefit from the market environment created by the country’s oil deregulation law. The result of these efforts is evident in the fact that the Philippines’ fuel prices are still among the lowest in Asia.
Employment for Filipinos
Aside from being an advocate of fair competition, SEAOIL has
been helping the Philippine economy by providing Filipinos
with business and employment opportunities. It currently has
105 stations nationwide, most of which are franchised to Dealers
who enjoy a low-risk investment yielding stable returns. Each
SEAOIL station, whether franchised or company-operated, employs
an average of 12 personnel, in totality, generating more than
a thousand jobs for Filipinos and ultimately contributing
to strengthening the country’s GDP.
Conservation of the Environment
The SEAOIL Group of Companies manifests an advocacy of environmental protection through its continuous development of products that lessen, if not eradicate toxic emissions from vehicles. It has partnered with ABS-CBN’s Bantay Kalikasan Program to enforce measures that would help clean the country’s environment. It likewise led the nation’s oil industry in offering 2004 Clean Air Act compliant fuels and is currently a strong proponent of the Department of Energy’s drive to develop renewable sources of energy.
