SEAOIL gains award in Environmental Management Program in Franchise Excellence Awards

SEAOIL Philippines, Inc., the country's largest and leading independent oil company, recently received an award in Environmental Management Program Award in the Franchise Excellence Awards organized by the Philippine Franchise Association.

The company received the award due to its Biofuels program which started back in August 2005.

SEAOIL was the first oil company to advocate the use of alternative fuels in the country. As a Leader in Innovation, SEAOIL is the first company to sell E10 fuels (fuels with 10% ethanol) and coco biodiesel (diesel with 2% coco methyl ester) in 2005. These fuel technologies are instrumental in decreasing air pollution and promoting the use of environmentally-friendly products in petroleum. It is also the first company to launch an program for the usage of E85 fuels in 2009.

Instrumental with the passing of the Biofuels Act of 2006, SEAOIL launched a nationwide information drive campaign. Forming a partnership with the Department of Energy and USAID Philippines, SEAOIL traveled from Luzon to Mindanao to inform and promote the use of Biofuels and its benefits among motorists in the country.

SEAOIL received the award at the Franchise Excellence Awards last September 22, 2011 at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

The Franchise Excellence Awards is one of the country's prestigious annual event recognizing the best franchise practices from different organizations.
