SEAOIL Philippines, Inc. continues its partnership with the Kaya Natin Movement, the Ateneo School of Government and the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) in empowering local government officials in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao to develop sustainable programs in their respective communities while practicing good governance.
The Luzon leg of their seminar series “Champions for Good Governance and Education Leadership Program” was held last January 10 at the Lancaster Hotel. Over thirty LGU officials from the NCR attended the seminar to learn from speakers the likes of Tony Meloto of Gawad Kalinga, Pia Ortiz-Luis of Jollibee Foundation and Mark Yu of SEAOIL.
There was also a sharing of best practices being done by the LGU and the Department of Education (DOE) in different parts of the country. The last phase of the seminar is the development of education-related programs, wherein deserving entries will be chosen and will be given a grant to help them roll-out their proposed project.
For this leg Palo, Leyte, Malabon City, Daram, Samar and Guimbal, Iloilo were selected.
